    Those little books are adorable and such lovely pieces of art, Marion. Just found that older video from you and enjoyed it very much. Have some days at hospital on intense care behind me and will now recover at home a while, but let's see things positive: time for creativity, yay. I will enjoy and make the best out of everything. Your videos make my me-time moments always just the better. I enjoy all of your contents so much. Your previous video of the yarn market where you interviewed some of the people was just making me smile when I was still in hospital. Those yarns were so lovely and I was happy for you when you found some little treasures for your own joy. Time for a slowly dog walk, let's see how far I make it today and how often I have to sit down. Slowly rebuilding my strength, but slowly means: more time to appreciate the wonders of lat summer and slowly showing early autumn.

    Thank you Marion for your video and a really excellent tutorial. I always shy away from long/short as I feel it looks messy. (My stitching I mean) I can manage it in crewel work (well wool is thicker) but I really feel I can give it a go in stranded cotton again. I think a few drawn lines will help not to mention auditioning the thread. I love that.

    I wanted to mention that you said you were working in a less comfortable position because you were trying to make sure we could see. I understand if you had your arm around the tripod that would be a little hard, but I wanted you to know that I feel like I can see if you are using your right hand on top of the work just fine. I don’t like to think of you working in an uncomfortable fashion just so you can make a video for us. To me what you’re saying is the most important thing. I can certainly see enough of the work to see how you’re applying what you’re teaching us.

When I am ready to give thread painting another go I will definitely be playing your videos again to watch how to do it. Marion, have you ever shown in a video how to separate the threads? I have had a great deal of trouble with that. Today you mentioned that we should take one thread out at a time and recombine it. I have had better luck pulling one thread. Is that just the bottom line, that you always pull one thread? I would like to see how you deal with the thread curling and tangling as you try to pull it. Let me know if that exists somewhere. What I’m doing with your videos is seeing what you advise and how you do things, and comparing it to my own practice. First thing this morning, you mentioned getting your threads going in the direction that the object shows. I was happy to see that I had already figured that one out. Then you mentioned about the one thread, and that’s something I didn’t know. I’m just making a little tally in a way, to see how far along I am. I would call myself a beginner with not much experience. Thank you, and as always, I am really enjoying your video.

    • @marionsworld24
      @marionsworld24 20 годин тому

      Hello Vernie. Yes, once you have cut your length, just hold onto the thread at the top, find the one that you want to pull out, and just pull that one straight up. You'll find that the rest of the strands crumple up in your hand ,but as soon as the one thread comes free the rest of it will relax back again. I'll make sure to show that in the next video I make. That will be on the next page though as the next videos are done already because of going away. I hope that has helped though.

    Marion Thank you! ❤ This is a very helpful tutorial and your Pensé look so beautiful so far 😍 I have to admit that I misunderstood you about the leaf embroidery 😮. I embroidered them through both layers of fabric...!😱 Didn't realize that until you showed the back of the embroidery in the second video episode 🙃😲😏, but I can still thread yarn into the frame around the picture. I hope there will be a little kind of trapunto in that way.😔 I would love to show you what I embroidered for you, but don't know how to send you the pictures. I have an instagram account but it's private for my family only and I haven't posted any of my embroideries from yor tutorial there either. Not good at using it. Also always forget my password in everything. If you know how I can do, please tell me.
